Stop Motion

A friend of mine sent me an Oren Lavie music video recently. It's a stop motion video and I really love it. I usually love anything that is stop motion. I've always been fascinated by the process, creativity and time it takes to create this type of thing. Here's the Oren Lavie video along with two other stop motion videos I really like. I saw the animated one on Katie's blog a while back, so cool. And the skateboarding one is a recent find, very funny.

1) That was really amazing!

2) I love that little animation story - made me cry again.

3) I don't even get how they made the skateboard movie.

At first, I thought the skateboard dude had a skateboard underneath him. Looks like I was wrong! Once I made a stop motion movie with GI Joes and Play Dough. I'll try to find it and post it.

A great stop action movie is The Nightmare Before Christmas directed by Tim Burton. Well worth your while if you've never seen it. It's not as scary as the title makes it sound and Grace & Emerson give it two thumbs way up!

That skateboarding = crazy.

I can't believe how much time goes in to making stop action films. (I speak from recent experience...Sam has been making Lego stop action films. It takes him all afternoon for 30 seconds of "footage.")

That was pretty awesome. I can't figure out the skateboard one either.

The animated one is still loading.

I love stop motion, just this week Dayna's girls (age 4 & 5) just put one up on her blog about their doll house, this stuff is great.
